The Trump administration lifted its suspension of military aid and intelligence sharing for Ukraine, officials announced Tuesday. This decision followed talks in Saudi Arabia where Kyiv signaled openness to a 30-day ceasefire with Russia, pending Moscow's agreement. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated Washington would present the ceasefire offer to the Kremlin. Trump's national security advisor, Mike Waltz, indicated Ukraine shares Trump's vision for peace. Discussions included long-term security guarantees. Simultaneously, Russia launched 126 drones and a ballistic missile at Ukraine. Trump also announced a 50% tariff on Canadian steel and aluminum, citing Ontario's electricity surcharge on U.S. states. Tariffs of 25% on steel and aluminum imports from other countries are also set to take effect.
