President Donald Trump praised Secretary of State Marco Rubio during a National Day of Prayer event, hinting at a significant shift in his administration.

Trump announced that Rubio would replace Mike Waltz as National Security Advisor. Waltz, in turn, will be nominated as the next United States Ambassador to the United Nations.

"Marco Rubio, unbelievable, unbelievable. Marco, when I have a problem, I call up Marco. He gets it solved," Trump stated, highlighting Rubio's capabilities.

Trump officially announced the changes on Truth Social after the Rose Garden event. He emphasized Rubio's continued leadership at the State Department alongside his new role.

"I am pleased to announce that I will be nominating Mike Waltz to be the next United States Ambassador to the United Nations," Trump wrote.

"In the interim, Secretary of State Marco Rubio will serve as National Security Advisor, while continuing his strong leadership at the State Department," Trump continued.

Waltz's departure marks the first major Cabinet change since Trump's second inauguration in January. Rubio also serves as acting administrator for the U.S. Agency for International Development and acting archivist of the United States.

During the event, Trump also lauded other cabinet members, including Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.

The prayer event featured figures like talk-show host Phil McGraw, who praised Trump's commitment to religion. Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick (R-TX) also lauded Trump's invocation of Jesus' name.

Trump also reflected on various global issues, including the war between Ukraine and Russia, and Israel's conflict with Hamas. He also spoke about the nature of humans compared to animals.

"They say the lions and the tigers aren't nearly as vicious as the human because they only kill for food," Trump said. "The human being kills for sport."
