Azerbaijan and Guinea-Bissau Hold First Political Consultations

Azerbaijan and Guinea-Bissau conducted their inaugural political consultations, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan. The consultations occurred during a visit by an Azerbaijani delegation headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yalchin Rafiyev. The Guinea-Bissau delegation was led by Secretary of State for International Cooperation Fatumata Djau. Discussions covered bilateral political and economic issues, cooperation within the UN, the Non-Aligned Movement, the OIC, and other international organizations. The visit aimed to broaden political, economic, humanitarian, and other cooperation between the countries, and to continue engagement at a high level within international organizations. The delegation was received by President of Guinea-Bissau Umaro Sissoco Embalo, Prime Minister Rui Duarte Barros, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Carlos Pinto Pereira. Meetings also involved representatives from various Azerbaijani ministries, including the Ministry of Economy, Planning and Regional Development, the environment and natural resources sectors, agriculture, defense, "Asan Khidmet", SOCAR, the Azerbaijan Investment Promotion Fund, and AzerGold. The consultations were held between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Yalchin Rafiyev and Secretary of State for International Cooperation of Guinea-Bissau Fatumata Djau. Parties addressed bilateral political and economic matters, collaboration within the UN, the Non-Aligned Movement, the OIC, and other international bodies.
