Mammoth solar farm in Indiana ramps up construction, boosting us clean energy

Edited by: Татьяна Гуринович

Mammoth Solar, a 1.3 gigawatt solar farm in northern Indiana, is entering its largest construction phase. This project is one of the largest solar initiatives in the United States. The solar farm is expected to increase Indiana's solar capacity by over 20% once fully operational.

Developer Doral Renewables has authorized Bechtel to proceed with the design, engineering, and construction of three major phases. These phases include Mammoth South, Mammoth Central I, and Mammoth Central II. Together, these phases will generate 900 MW of clean energy.

Construction is underway, and Bechtel will install approximately 2 million solar panels over the next two years. About half of these panels will be manufactured in the US. The project is expected to create over 1,200 jobs, with at least 15% allocated for apprenticeships.
