China has confirmed its plans to construct a nuclear power plant on the Moon. The announcement was made on Wednesday, outlining the mission Chang'e 8, scheduled for 2028.

The mission aims to test methods of generating power on the Moon. This initiative is a collaboration with Russia to supply energy to the International Lunar Research Station (ILRS).

Alongside the nuclear plant, solar panels are also being considered as a power source. The goal is to ensure a consistent electricity supply for equipment and astronauts, supporting long-duration missions.
