IAEA raises alarm over North Korea's nuclear program

Edited by: Света Света

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has voiced serious concerns about North Korea's rapidly expanding nuclear program. IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi highlighted the lack of international oversight. He emphasized the potential dangers of Pyongyang's unchecked nuclear activities. Grossi noted that North Korea has been developing new nuclear facilities. These include a possible third enrichment facility. The IAEA has been unable to inspect these sites since being expelled in 2009. The UN has imposed sanctions on North Korea. However, these measures have been largely ineffective in curbing its weapons development. Grossi called for proactive engagement with North Korea to address the growing nuclear threat.
