Lithuania has launched the Ukraine2EU program with €16.7 million in funding from the European Union. The initiative aims to support Ukraine's efforts to integrate into the EU. The program was announced at the "Ukraine's Path to the EU: Choosing the Best" conference and is managed by Lithuania's Central Project Management Agency. The Ukraine2EU program will provide strategic support to Ukrainian institutions and civil society organizations involved in European integration. Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis has stated the program's goal is to prepare Ukraine for EU membership, targeting accession by 2030. Denmark and Sweden have also voiced their support for Ukraine's EU aspirations and emphasized the importance of continued reforms, especially in anti-corruption measures. Ukraine applied for EU membership on February 28, 2022, and was granted candidate status by the European Council on June 23, 2022. Official accession negotiations began on June 25, 2024.
