US Imposes Sanctions on Companies Supporting Israeli Military Operations

On July 9, 2025, the United States imposed sanctions on companies supporting Israeli military operations in the occupied Palestinian territories. The sanctions are in response to their involvement in the actions of the International Criminal Court related to human rights in the region.

The US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, stated that the measures are intended to support the International Criminal Court's investigation of two American and Israeli citizens, representing actions against the sovereignty of the countries. Rubio added, "We will not tolerate political and economic campaigns that threaten our national interests and sovereignty."

In a related development, the Israeli ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, condemned the US sanctions, citing the "continuous campaign against Israel and the United States" that the US is taking.

Albanese, the Italian academic and the Italian academic, has already called on the allied countries in the UN Human Rights Council to impose sanctions on the supply of weapons to Israel and to cut off trade and financial relations with it, calling it a "collective punishment campaign" in the Gaza Strip.

In a report published earlier this month, Albanese accused more than 60 companies, including major technology and arms manufacturing companies, of complicity in supporting Israeli settlements and military operations in Gaza.

It is worth noting that former US President Donald Trump had already imposed sanctions on four ICC judges in June 2024, in response to the court's issuance of arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his investigation into war crimes by US forces in Afghanistan.
