Trump Calls For Cancellation Of Netanyahu's Corruption Trial

Edited by: S Света

On June 25, 2025, former U.S. President Donald Trump publicly advocated for the cancellation of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's ongoing corruption trial or, alternatively, for his pardon.

Netanyahu faces charges of bribery, fraud, and breach of trust, which he denies. Trump praised Netanyahu, likening the trial to a "witch hunt."

The trial, which began in 2020, has divided the Israeli public. Despite Trump's statement, a pardon is not currently being considered.

Simultaneously, a ceasefire between Israel and Iran, declared by Trump on June 23, 2025, remains in effect. This followed a 12-day conflict.

In February 2025, Trump signed an executive order imposing sanctions on the International Criminal Court (ICC) in response to investigations of Israel.
