Sometimes life arranges run-ins with exes at the store, in a café, or on the street. And sometimes — at an altitude of several thousand meters, and you're the one flying the plane.
A pilot spotted her own ex among the passengers. Her video went viral on social media on 27 September.
Before the flight, she was, as usual, reviewing the passenger manifest — and suddenly saw a very familiar name.
At first she even double-checked.
No, there was no mistake.
Her ex-boyfriend really was on board.
That's when professionalism collided slightly with human nature
According to the pilot, when she realized exactly who was sitting among the passengers, her mood noticeably improved.
She didn't actually have to walk through the cabin at all.
But the opportunity was too good.
So she deliberately walked past her ex's seat, keeping the most unruffled expression possible, and glanced out of the corner of her eye to see if he had noticed her.
He had.
And here the story could have ended with a beautiful silent scene from a romantic comedy.
But the ex decided to wait until after landing.
"So you're a pilot now?"
After landing, the man walked up to her and asked in surprise, something along the lines of:
"So you're a pilot now?"
To which she confirmed with great pleasure:
Yes.
A pilot now.
And from her emotional account it was perfectly clear that she intends to remember this moment for a very long time.
In the video, the woman even joked that for a moment she had some extremely unkind thoughts about the passenger, but professionalism and common sense won out.
Which, given the place they met, is certainly a relief.
The internet, of course, could not pass this by
The story instantly turned into a joke about the most unexpected career revenge.
Because it's rather hard to imagine a more beautiful situation:
you broke up;
time passed;
each of you has their own life;
and then one day the man buys a plane ticket and suddenly discovers that his ex is at the controls.
There are people who post beautiful photos after a breakup.
There are those who change their hairstyle.
There are those who build a career.
And here it all came together at once, except the final demonstration of success took place at cruising altitude.
This is probably one of those rare cases when the phrase:
"My ex now controls my life"
turned out to be almost literally true.
True, though, only until landing. 😄
