At the Alpine resort of Megève, the traditional festival of cows of the Abondance breed took place Abondance. 11 October, Megève, France.
The animals were led out onto a special platform in front of the audience almost like real models: beautiful, well-groomed, with huge bells around their necks and a completely unflappable air.
But the funniest part awaited the public later.
The guests were invited to guess the exact weight of one of the cows together with its bell.
Whoever comes closest to the correct answer receives that very bell with a decorated leather strap.
So the contest scheme is roughly this:
first you admire the beauty,
then you look at her carefully,
and then you publicly try to determine how much she weighs.
In France, they can turn even a beauty contest among cows into a society event.
One can only imagine the host:
"Madame, you are magnificent today. And now the main question of the evening — just how much do you weigh?" 😄
