Microsoft has finally announced the exact release date of the Surface Laptop Ultra. The new product will go on sale in October 2026, on 16.
The starting price of the device is $2599. In its base configuration, the laptop will get a 18-core processor, 24 GB of RAM and a 512 GB drive.
This is the first Surface based on the Nvidia RTX Spark chip. The Arm-architecture platform, with support for up to 128 GB of unified memory, is aimed at heavy tasks: graphics work, gaming and local AI.
The screen is a 15-inch HDR panel with peak brightness of up to 2000 nits. The trackpad has been enlarged and supports haptic feedback. The body is made of aluminum and resembles the MacBook Pro, with which Microsoft is directly competing.
The ports include three USB-C, HDMI, USB-A, an SD card slot and a headphone jack. Charging is via the magnetic Magnetic Connect connector, which plugs into a USB-C port.
The top version will cost $5899,99: a 20-core CPU, 128 GB of RAM and a terabyte SSD. Pre-orders are already open.
Months ago, Microsoft showed a prototype, but the details of pricing and availability remained unknown. Now the picture has become clearer.
How will the arrival of such powerful Arm laptops affect the premium device market?
One thing is clear for now: the Surface Laptop Ultra is positioned as a flagship for those who need maximum performance in a thin body.
