On September 9, 2026, Apple officially introduced the iPhone Duo — its first foldable smartphone. The device opens and closes like a book and has become the biggest innovation in the lineup in nearly two decades.
When folded, the phone is about the size of a passport. Unfolded, it offers a 7,6-inch internal display — the largest in iPhone history. The external screen is 5,4 inches. Both screens have the same aspect ratio and support brightness up to 3000 nits.
The model is equipped with the A20 Pro chip and C2 modem. Battery life reaches 31 hours of video on the internal screen and 44 hours on the external one. Cameras include 48-megapixel main and ultra-wide modules, as well as an under-screen front camera.
The price starts at 1999 dollars for the version with 256 GB. Pre-orders will open on October 16, and sales will begin on October 23. The device is available in two colors: Star White and Night Sky.
The presentation took place in Cupertino and was the first major one for Apple's new CEO, John Ternus. The company emphasized that the iPhone Duo aims to rethink the experience of using foldable smartphones, unlike existing models on the market.
