July 3, 2025, Amarillo, Texas: Fermi America, led by former U.S. Energy Secretary Rick Perry, is developing the HyperGrid campus.

The project aims to deliver 1 gigawatt (GW) of power by the end of 2026, with a long-term goal of 11 GW of AI capacity.

The campus will integrate nuclear, natural gas, solar, wind, and battery storage.

Fermi America has acquired over 600 MW of natural gas generation capacity.

This includes six Siemens SGT-800 gas turbines (478 MW) and three GE Frame 6B gas turbines (135 MW initially).

The HyperGrid campus is located near the Pantex Plant, supporting AI data centers.

Fermi America is partnering with the Texas Tech University System.

Geotechnical work has begun, with the first 1 GW of power expected online by late 2026.
