Google Introduces End-to-End Encryption for Gmail Business Users, Enhancing Email Security Globally

Google has announced the rollout of end-to-end encryption (E2EE) for Gmail business users, offering a simplified approach to email security. This new feature aims to provide a more user-friendly alternative to the traditional S/MIME protocol, which requires complex X.509 certificate configurations. The encryption and decryption processes occur locally on users' devices, with Google managing the encryption keys through a Key Access Control List (KACL) server. While this method simplifies secure email communication, it's important to note that Google technically retains access to the encryption keys, although they claim no access to decrypted content.
