Uzbekistan is set to become a regional leader in 5G technology with the deployment of a nationwide 5G Standalone (SA) network. Perfectum, a new operator owned by Rubicon Wireless Communication LLC, is spearheading the project, partnering with Nokia as the sole equipment provider. The network aims to provide high-speed, low-latency connectivity across the country, supporting digital transformation and economic growth.
The initial phase will focus on Tashkent and its surrounding areas, followed by expansion to the Fergana Valley and less populated regions. Nokia will supply a comprehensive 5G SA solution, including radio access, transport, and core networks, streamlining implementation and enhancing operational efficiency. The project is financed by Landesbank Baden-Württemberg through Uzpromstroybank, backed by a €46 million guarantee from Finnvera. This initiative aligns with Uzbekistan's digital transformation program, fostering innovation in telemedicine, smart cities, and remote work, and catering to the country's young, tech-savvy population.
