Rokid Glasses 2 and Color: the second generation and a full-color model against Meta Ray-Ban

Edited by: Tetiana Pin

Rokid unveiled two new smart glasses models at once, Glasses 2 and Color, at the Rokid Jungle event on 27 October 2026, and widespread publications appeared on 28–29 October. Both models are currently sold only in China. The company will show the global versions at CES 2027 in Las Vegas. The new lineup also introduced the Rokid Ring controller ring. Recall that the first Rokid glasses with a display came out in China in 2024, and the global release took place nine months later.

Glasses 2 are an evolution of the monochrome lineup, not a new class of device. The display remains a single-color green MicroLED waveguide with a resolution of 480 × 380 and a brightness of 1500 nits, but the internals have been noticeably updated. The combination of a Snapdragon AR1+ and a BES2800BP coprocessor works together with 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of built-in storage. The 12 MP camera shoots 4K video at 30 frames per second, and the audio has gained Dolby Audio support, four omnidirectional microphones and a bone-conduction microphone that helps keep the voice from getting lost in the wind. The battery capacity has grown to 263 mAh versus 210 mAh in the predecessor. The temples open 22 % wider, and the nose pads have been redesigned for a more comfortable fit. IPX4 protection and support for magnetic prescription overlay lenses have been retained. The price in China starts at 3699 yuan (about 550 dollars) for the black version; the tortoiseshell version costs 3849 yuan. Sales in China start on 11 November.

Color is Rokid's first full-color model and the main bet of this premiere. The MicroLED optical module with a volume of 0,16 cubic cm provides 100 % sRGB coverage, and the stated color gamut volume is 167 % sRGB. The glasses weigh 55 grams. You can choose between a version with 2 GB of RAM and 64 GB of built-in storage for 4999 yuan (about 750 dollars) and a version with 4 GB and 64 GB for 5499 yuan (about 825 dollars). The glasses can be controlled with a touchpad on the temple, by voice, by gaze and with the Rokid Ring for 1699 yuan (about 250 dollars). The ring responds to touches and gestures such as a finger snap, and it can also track pulse, oxygen level, temperature and sleep.

The main benchmark for Color is Meta Ray-Ban Display. Meta's glasses weigh 69 grams in the standard size and 70 grams in the large one, meaning Color is lighter by 14–15 grams. Meta sells in the US for about 800 dollars together with a control wristband, and the stated battery life is up to 6 hours. Rokid positions Color specifically against it, but for now only the specifications on paper can be compared.

Compared with the first generation, Glasses 2 win on battery, audio and camera, but fall slightly short in image height: 380 pixels versus 398 for the original according to Rokid. For text prompts the difference is almost imperceptible, but it is there.

What should a buyer do right now? If you need quick prompts, translation and navigation, Glasses 2 are a clear choice, and they can be bought in China as early as November. Color should be seen as an interesting but so far unproven purchase: shipments in China are expected only in April 2027. Prices and the terms of the international launch will be clarified at CES 2027, so until then it is wiser to wait.
