Apple HomeView: a 7-inch panel with facial recognition for up to six users and Siri AI

On 13 October 2026, Apple unveiled HomeView — a 7-inch smart panel with a Liquid Retina display, facial recognition and an updated Siri AI. The device is available in two versions, priced at $299: a desktop version with a dynamic base and a wall-mounted one.

HomeView is equipped with an A18 chip, a 12-megapixel Center Stage camera and supports up to six personal profiles. Upon facial recognition, the panel switches to an individual home screen with apps, widgets, messages, calendar and FaceTime. Personal data is displayed only when an unlocked iPhone or iPad belonging to the same user, connected to the home Wi-Fi, is nearby.

The 1088 × 1088 pixel display with True Tone and brightness adjustment from 500 to 0,3 nits automatically adapts the interface to distance: from afar it shows large elements, up close — detailed controls. The desktop version is equipped with a two-way acoustic system with a subwoofer and passive radiators, the wall-mounted one — with two speakers. Both variants support Spatial Audio, FaceTime and control of HomeKit and Matter devices.

Facial recognition works without Face ID: the data is processed in the secure enclave of the A18 chip, inaccessible to the OS and to Apple. Full personalization requires a compatible iPhone or iPad with Apple Intelligence. The device is not sold in the EU at launch.

Compared with the Google Nest Hub Max and Amazon Echo Show 10, HomeView wins with its integration into the Apple ecosystem and precise separation of profiles, but lags behind in price and availability in Europe. Pre-orders open on 13 October, sales will begin on 13 November 2026 in the US, UK, Canada, Australia and a number of other countries.

For owners of the Apple ecosystem, HomeView will become a convenient centralized hub for home management and personal notifications, if privacy and integration with the iPhone are the priority.
