Proton has officially announced the upcoming launch of its first electric vehicle, the eMas 7, set for December 16. This model, showcased at the Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show, features a new design called 'Nadi' and will be available in two variants: Prime and Premium.
The Prime variant is equipped with a 49.52 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, offering a range of up to 345 km based on WLTP standards. The Premium variant boasts a larger 60.22 kWh battery, reaching up to 470 km according to NEDC standards.
Both variants include a charging location feature in the infotainment system, displaying 1,461 charging stations, covering approximately 85% of the country’s infrastructure. This feature was developed in collaboration with Pro-Net, which previously introduced a similar feature for the smart #1 electric vehicle.
Charging capabilities include AC charging at a maximum speed of 11 kW. The Prime variant can charge from 30% to 80% in just 4.9 hours, while the Premium takes 6.1 hours.
The eMas 7 is priced at around RM120,000 (approximately Rp 430 million), offering advanced features such as a 16-speaker audio system, ventilated front seats with memory, and a Head-Up Display (HUD). This vehicle presents significant technological advancements, even when compared to gasoline SUVs like the Honda HR-V and Toyota Corolla Cross.
