On Schwarzenegger's advice, Figure's robots were melted down as in "The Terminator"-1
🤖 Figure robots were sent into the furnace — literally like in Terminator — September 30, Finland

The company Figure decided to bid farewell to its aging humanoids F.02 in a way that would be remembered for a long time.

When the question arose of what to do with its old fleet of robots, the company asked the internet. And then, unexpectedly, into the discussion came Arnold Schwarzenegger and suggested a simple option:

melt them down.

Figure took the advice as literally as possible.

The robots were sent on 2 October to a metallurgical plant in the Finnish city of Imatra (Finland). FigureAI, where there is a huge 75-ton electric furnace with molten steel. Moreover, simply dumping the machines in there seemed insufficiently spectacular.

The engineers specially trained F.02 to jump into the furnace on their own.

For training, they even used the movements of stunt performers, and at the headquarters the robots first practiced jumping from the second floor onto huge inflatable cushions.

And now, the finale.

One after another, the humanoids are sent into the molten metal. And one of them, before disappearing, even repeats the famous gesture from "The Terminator" — raises his thumb.

It turned out so much like the finale of "Terminator 2"that no one needed the reference explained.

The most beautiful part: after all this, the molten metal was not thrown away. It was turned into metal blanks, from which Figure plans to make commemorative items.

In other words, the robot's life cycle turned out roughly like this:

worked → became obsolete → jumped into the furnace → became a souvenir.

The future has arrived. And for some reason it was written by Schwarzenegger. 😄
