A recent Kroll report emphasized the growing concern among financial crime compliance professionals regarding cybercriminals' use of AI, with many feeling ill-equipped to handle the issue. Despite investments in AI, confidence in its positive impact on financial crime compliance has decreased. According to Kroll's 2025 Financial Crime Report, over 71% of executives anticipate a rise in financial crime risks in 2025, highlighting cybersecurity, AI, regulatory complexity, geopolitics, and sanctions as key concerns.
