At the US Open 2026 Carlos Alcaraz unexpectedly became a hero not only of tennis discussions but also of fashion ones.
In the first matches, the Spaniard took to the court in a loose brown Nike sleeveless shirt. During movements, it kept shifting, revealing his chest more than, it seemed, Carlos himself had intended. The internet noticed this instantly, and the story quickly got a joking name Nipplegate.
Former tennis player Eugenie Bouchardcould not resist either, joking that Carlos should 'hide his nipple' by now.
And so, for the third-round match, Alcaraz came out in the same sleeveless shirt but with a white tight-fitting undershirt beneath it.
After the victory, journalists, of course, asked why he had changed his look.
The answer turned out almost better than the match itself:
'I think lately I've been seeing my nipple too often.' 😄
Carlos added that the decision was his own, not a requirement from Nike, and that he found it quite comfortable with the extra undershirt.
And Bouchard after that wrote triumphantly: 'He listened.'.
So at the current US Open, Alcaraz seems to have two tournaments at once: one for the title, and the second for the right to finally finish a match peacefully without discussing his own nipple. 😄
