València to Host Inaugural Wheelchair Tennis Tournament in 2025

VALÈNCIA. The Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) and the Enrique Esteire Perla In Memoriam Association (AEEPIM) are set to host the first edition of a wheelchair tennis tournament from June 5 to 8, 2025.

This significant event will feature participation from renowned Paralympic athletes such as Quico Tur, who has competed in four Olympic Games, and Quique Síscar, who is slated to participate in the upcoming Paris 2024 Games.

Carlos Esteire, president of AEEPIM, emphasized that this tournament marks a crucial milestone as it is the first initiative promoted by the association within a Spanish university. The event aims to enhance adaptive sports, dismantling barriers and fostering inclusion.

César Iribarren, director of the Sports Area at UPV, highlighted the university's commitment to inclusive sports, expressing support for this initiative that broadens the institution's sporting activities.
