Eurovision 2025 Grand Final: Switzerland Hosts, Anticipation Builds, and UK's Remember Monday Aims for Victory

Edited by: Inna Horoshkina One

The Eurovision Song Contest 2025 is underway in Basel, Switzerland, culminating in the Grand Final on May 17. St. Jakobshalle hosts the event, where 26 countries will compete for the coveted title. Switzerland secured its place as host after Nemo's victory in 2024.

The UK is represented by Remember Monday, a country-pop trio from Surrey and Hampshire. The group consists of Holly-Anne Hull, Charlotte Steele, and Lauren Byrne, who co-wrote their song "What The Hell Just Happened?". They are the first all-female group to represent the UK at Eurovision this century. Remember Monday will perform eighth in the running order.

Other notable participants include Sweden's KAJ, performing "Bara Bada Bastu," and Israel's Yuval Raphael with "New Day Will Rise". The voting system involves national juries and viewer votes, each contributing 50% to the overall result. Viewers from participating countries can vote via phone, SMS, or the Eurovision app, with the voting window opening after all acts have performed.

The hosts for the evening are Hazel Brugger, Michelle Hunziker, and Sandra Studer. The stage design is inspired by Switzerland's mountains and linguistic diversity. The Eurovision Village at Messe Basel offers live concerts, public viewings, and food and drink.
