Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds Skip Met Gala Amid Legal Battle

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds chose not to attend the 2025 Met Gala, sparking speculation about the reasons behind their absence. This marks the third consecutive year the couple has skipped the high-profile event.

Sources suggest various explanations for their decision. One source told Us Weekly that Lively's absence wasn't unexpected, while TMZ reported it was unrelated to the ongoing legal battle involving Justin Baldoni.

In December 2024, Lively filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against Baldoni, director of It Ends with Us. Baldoni responded with a $400 million defamation lawsuit against Lively, Reynolds, and their publicist.

Despite missing the Met Gala, Lively has remained active, promoting her film Another Simple Favor. She also attended the TIME 100 Gala with Reynolds in April, where she was honored.

Lively expressed her gratitude on Instagram, acknowledging the honor. Neither Lively nor Reynolds has publicly commented on their Met Gala absence.
