The iconic "Jennifer Aniston salad" has gained popularity, inspiring home cooks.

The salad, often associated with the actress's daily diet during the filming of "Friends", has been revealed to be a different recipe than the one she actually consumed.

The viral salad recipe includes bulgur, cucumbers, herbs, pistachios, chickpeas, and feta cheese. Here's a complete recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup bulgur

  • 2 cups boiling water

  • 1 cucumber, diced

  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh herbs (parsley, mint, dill)

  • 1/4 cup pistachios, chopped

  • 1 (15-ounce) can chickpeas, rinsed and drained

  • 1/2 cup feta cheese, crumbled

  • Dressing: 1/4 cup olive oil, 2 tablespoons lemon juice, salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Place the bulgur in a bowl and pour the boiling water over it. Cover and let it sit for about 15 minutes, or until the bulgur is tender and has absorbed the water. Fluff with a fork.

  2. In a large bowl, combine the cooked bulgur, cucumber, herbs, pistachios, chickpeas, and feta cheese.

  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.

  4. Pour the dressing over the salad and toss to combine.

  5. Serve immediately or chill for later.
