Pierfrancesco Favino, with Anna Ferzetti, was celebrated as "le grand acteur italien" at the Cannes Film Festival 2025 opening ceremony. Favino, dressed in a bronze tuxedo, received the honor before the screening of his new film.

Favino stars in Enzo, directed by Robin Campillo and written by the late Laurent Cantet. The film opened the Quinzaine des Cinéastes on May 14, 2025. Favino expressed his gratitude to Cannes, acknowledging that the 2019 festival presentation of The Traitor paved the way for his current presence.

In Enzo, Favino portrays a loving and protective university professor whose sixteen-year-old son seeks his place in the world. The film, set for release on June 18, 2025, highlights Favino's acting skills, as he performs in fluent French. The 57th edition of the Quinzaine des Cinéastes runs from May 14 to May 22, 2025.
