At the edge of Oak Street — Russian trailer (dubbed, 2026)

The film “At the Edge of Oak Street” premiered on the big screen just a couple of days ago, on August 13-14, 2026, and we're already eager to share our impressions.

And you know what? Overall, we really enjoyed it! Grand, adventurous, almost family-friendly – it was precisely what multiplexes needed this summer. “At the Edge of Oak Street” will be playing in theaters until September 9 and is available in IMAX, 4DX, and standard 2D formats.

This is a genuinely engaging adventure sci-fi film featuring dinosaurs and an ordinary American family at its core.

However, the movie is also a story of survival, as the characters find themselves in an extreme situation where they must fight for their lives against prehistoric predators.

It's an amusing and intriguing film that immediately brings “Jurassic Park” to mind.

It shares the same tension and dinosaurs, but with an added focus on family dynamics and survival in a modern setting. While it doesn't revolutionize the genre, it executes it with quality and excitement.

Why You Should See It in Theaters

This is precisely the kind of film made for the big screen.

You can confidently head to the cinema, and preferably IMAX, as the scale of the dinosaur scenes, special effects, and sound design are truly unleashed on a large display. The 4DX format will also enhance the immersive experience of the survival sequences.

The Ending

The film's conclusion deserves special mention – the ending is superb.

While we won't reveal any spoilers, we can assure you it will surprise you and leave a pleasant aftertaste.

Actors: Hathaway and McGregor – A Family You Believe In

The cast is undoubtedly the film's main highlight.

Anne Hathaway portrays Denise Platt, an aspiring writer and mother. Her character embarks on a journey from a bewildered woman contemplating a fresh start to a fierce lioness protecting her offspring. The film's tagline, “This mother fights back,” is truly fitting. Hathaway delivers convincing performances in both dramatic and action sequences, making this one of her best works in recent years.

Ewan McGregor plays Greg Platt, her on-screen husband, a pizza deliveryman and father.

The actor infuses the film with warmth and subtle irony, and his chemistry with Hathaway is palpable from their very first scenes together.

The young actors also impress: Macy Stella as daughter Audrey and Christian Convery as son Brian.

It's rare to find child actors in a disaster film who don't annoy but genuinely evoke empathy and concern.

One cannot overlook the director: David Robert Mitchell, known for the cult horror film “It Follows” and the noir “Under the Silver Lake.”

He returns to the big screen after a long hiatus; “The End of Oak Street” marks his first feature film in 8 years. And it's a worthy comeback: Mitchell masterfully builds suspense, skillfully plays with genre conventions, and keeps audiences on the edge of their seats until the very end.

Our Rating: 7.9/10

The rating is slightly lower due to a few scenes that are not advisable for younger children. While these moments are few, the film could have been more universally family-friendly, suitable even for toddlers.

It's a shame the creators included these elements.

However, overall, the film is positive, dynamic, and engaging, which accounts for the very high final score.

“The End of Oak Street” is a high-quality adventure sci-fi film that offers two hours of intense entertainment.

If you've been missing “Jurassic Park”-style movies with a compelling family story and impressive survival scenes, don't hesitate to see it in theaters, especially in IMAX.

Recommended For: fans of adventure sci-fi, dinosaur films, family movies (with age considerations), and anyone looking for an exciting cinematic experience.
