FAST & FURIOUS TV Series Officially Greenlit by Peacock – Everything We Know

The streaming service Peacock has officially put a series based on the universe into production "Fast & Furious" (*Fast & Furious*). The show will be released in 2028 — the same year the franchise's final film, titled Fast Forever ("Fast Forever").

Over 25 years, the franchise "Fast & Furious" has grown from a story about street racing into a sprawling saga about family, loyalty and wild adventures around the world. Cars here are not just transport, but an extension of the characters' personalities. Now this world is expanding to television.

The series is being written and launched by the duo of Mike Daniels and Wolf Coleman. Vin Diesel will serve as executive producer alongside the team that worked on the films. The premiere is scheduled for 2028 and will coincide with the release of Fast Forever on 17 March of the same year.

The news matters right now: after the announcement at the NBCUniversal presentation in May 2026, Peacock gave the green light to the first of several planned projects. This is a step into an era when major blockbusters are looking for new formats on streaming, but trying to preserve the integrity of the characters and the feeling of "family" that fans value so much.

Vin Diesel specifically emphasized that he had long waited for the right moment. According to him, fans had been asking for more stories about familiar characters for ten years, and he agreed only when he was sure that "the integrity of the characters" and the spirit of family would remain untouched.

Over a quarter of a century, the franchise's films have grossed more than 7 billion dollars at the global box office. Now "Fast & Furious" is coming to television screens without losing its cinematic scope.

For fans of the series, this is a chance to see new facets of beloved characters. For those already tired of endless sequels, the project most likely will not offer radical changes — the style will remain recognizable.

In 2028 viewers will get two major releases at once: a series on Peacock and a big finale in cinemas. A rare case when a franchise ends and continues to live at the same time.
