The Cannes Film Festival is currently hosting a special event. On May 16th, Bono, the lead singer of U2, presented his biographical documentary "Stories of Surrender".
Bono used this moment to draw Europe's attention to Ukraine and the ongoing conflict. He emphasized the importance of supporting Ukraine against what he describes as Europe's vulnerability to fascism. Bono was joined by Sean Penn, Mykola Syrotyuk, and cultural ambassadors at the Cannes Film Festival.
The Cultural Forces team, including captain Mykola Serga, also participated, underscoring the importance of cultural diplomacy in supporting Ukraine. The documentary received a seven-minute standing ovation, and Bono expressed his gratitude to the Ukrainian defenders, stating that they are fighting for freedom and against fascism for all of Europe.
