Total Lunar Eclipse Displayed 'Blood Moon' on March 14, 2025

Edited by: Uliana S. Аj

Stargazers in the Americas, Pacific, Atlantic, western Europe, and Africa witnessed a total lunar eclipse on March 14, 2025. The event, dubbed the 'Blood Moon,' occurred as the Earth passed between the Sun and Moon, casting a shadow and giving the Moon a reddish hue due to sunlight refracting through Earth's atmosphere. Totality lasted over an hour. A partial solar eclipse will be visible on March 29 in eastern Canada, parts of Europe, northern Russia, and northwest Africa. Viewing solar eclipses requires eye protection.
