Widespread flooding across the South and Midwest of the United States, resulting from days of relentless rainfall, has led to at least 19 fatalities. Over a foot of rain has fallen in the mid-South since last Wednesday, with numerous daily rainfall records broken in Arkansas and Tennessee on Saturday. Memphis recorded its wettest day ever in April with 5.47 inches of rain. The storms, which also produced tornadoes, have prompted evacuations and water rescues across Kentucky. The Kentucky River is expected to crest in Frankfort, Kentucky, near the city's flood walls. A state of emergency was declared in Kentucky, with court closures announced. The Ohio River in Louisville rose significantly, and flooding also impacted parts of Ohio, with multiple water rescues reported. The Masters golf tournament in Augusta, Georgia, was also affected, with closures announced.
