Edited by: Tetiana Martynovska 17

Romania is expected to be affected by a mass of air carrying Saharan dust from March 11-13, 2025. The phenomenon is caused by south-westerly air currents transporting dust from North Africa to southeastern Europe. The National Meteorological Administration forecasts the dust cloud will arrive on the morning of March 11, affecting western and central regions first, followed by southern and southeastern areas. Cities including Bucharest, Timisoara, Cluj-Napoca, Craiova, Constanta, Brasov, and Iasi are expected to be most impacted. The dust cloud is expected to dissipate by March 13. Higher than normal temperatures are also forecast, with highs between 13 and 25 degrees Celsius. Individuals with respiratory issues or allergies are advised to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, use protective masks, keep windows closed, and stay hydrated.
