Silicon Valley has a new problem: employees of technology companies have suddenly become rich and are now trying to figure out what to do with their money.
Traditional watches, expensive suits and leather briefcases do not particularly appeal to them. Why buy yet another blazer when you can acquire a genuine meteorite, a fire engine or an entire professional sports team?
A former SpaceX employee named Chip, whose shares were valued at around $3,5 million, has already spent $10 000 on meteorites and another $5 000 on a fire engine. What exactly he plans to do with it, the man has not yet decided. Perhaps he will bring it to his three-year-old child's birthday party. Because an ordinary entertainer in a firefighter costume is for people without space shares.
Former OpenAI head of sales Zach Cass went even further: with the money he earned, he bought a stake in a professional volleyball team. Apparently, when your fortune is growing rapidly, you want at least someone to hit the ball professionally instead of you.

Experts note that the new technology rich are generally less interested in classic luxury. They spent years walking around in T-shirts and shorts and have no intention of changing their habits just because they can now buy the whole store.
Thus a new millionaire style was born: a secondhand T-shirt, a smartwatch on the wrist, a meteorite on the shelf and a fire engine in the yard.
Perhaps true luxury is not an expensive suit. True luxury is buying a fire engine for $5 000 and only then starting to figure out why you needed it. 😄
