Kevin O’Leary (a.k.a. Mr. Wonderful from Shark Tank) demonstrates an important truth by his behavior: true luxury is not the price tag, but the freedom of choice.
Investor and star of Shark Tank Kevin O’Leary is estimated to be worth around 400 million dollars. Yet he keeps buying jeans at Walmart for 29 dollars.
At the end of August 2026, O’Leary posted a video from a store. He showed the black jeans he often wears in public and said outright: “This is a special Walmart deal. 29 bucks. That’s how you save money.”
In the same clip, the millionaire compared packages of Bounty paper towels, choosing the better value by number of rolls, and put together an ordinary shopping list — batteries, oil, laundry detergent. His wife had sent him out for household odds and ends, and he turned the errand into a demonstration of his principle.
This is far from the first time O’Leary has shown that even with great wealth he keeps an eye on price tags. In his words, there’s no point in overpaying for everyday things if you can get the same for less. He prefers to direct the money he saves to where it actually works.
The story once again reminded us: the habit of checking the price tag doesn’t disappear even when the count runs into hundreds of millions.
