Kraken Launches Stock and ETF Trading for US Users
Kraken, a major cryptocurrency exchange, has announced the launch of trading for over 11,000 US-listed stocks and ETFs with commission-free trading. This initiative aims to integrate equities and digital assets into a single platform for US users in select states.
Initially, users in New Jersey, Connecticut, Wyoming, Oklahoma, Idaho, Iowa, Rhode Island, Kentucky, Alabama, and the District of Columbia can access these stocks and ETFs within their Kraken accounts. The exchange plans a phased national rollout to expand access to clients in additional US states.
Kraken's expansion into traditional investment products signals the growing convergence of traditional finance and digital assets. Co-CEO Arjun Sethi stated that this move paves the way for the tokenization of assets and a borderless future of trading. The company plans to expand to the UK, Europe, and Australia.
