New Munich-Ancona Railjet Connects Germany to Italy's Adriatic Coast

A new international tourist train route has launched, connecting Munich, Germany, to Ancona, Italy. The Railjet, operated by DB Bahn in collaboration with ÖBB, Regione Marche, and Trenord, arrived in Ancona on April 17, 2025, marking the official start of the service.

The train route will run until October 5, 2025, with stops in Pesaro and Senigallia before reaching Ancona. This new connection aims to boost tourism and internationalization in the Marche region of Italy.

The service offers daily trips and provides a significant opportunity to increase the visibility of the Marche region in Europe. It integrates the region into major European mobility networks, with positive economic impacts for tourism.

The Railjet boasts modern comforts, including free Wi-Fi, a restaurant, and a snack bar. It also provides dedicated areas for bicycles, skis, and snowboards. With affordable fares starting at under 50 euros, the journey takes less than 10 hours.

Local transport services are integrated with the Railjet, offering connections to Urbino from Pesaro, hotels from Senigallia, and other key destinations. Future plans include a connection to the Riviera del Conero from Ancona.

The train features 430 seats in economy class, 86 in first class, 16 in business class, and 3 accessible seats for passengers with disabilities. This new route offers a comfortable and convenient way to explore the Adriatic coast.
