Bolivia's tourism sector is gearing up for a significant boost during Holy Week, projecting an economic impact of over 320 million Bolivianos (approximately $46 million USD) and anticipating the arrival of 480,000 visitors across various destinations. The Vice Minister of Tourism, Hiver Flores, expressed optimism about surpassing last year's figures by 10%, especially considering the disruptions caused by protests during the same period in 2024. Copacabana, a popular destination, is preparing to welcome around 25,000 visitors. The Mayor of Copacabana, Teófilo Choque, highlighted the town's attractions, including the Calvario, floating islands, white beaches, Isla del Sol, and the astronomical observatory, as well as its unique cuisine featuring fish, pasankalla, and dried beans. Bolivian families are encouraged to explore the country's diverse landscapes and cultural offerings during the long holiday weekend.
