Serbia to Launch Online E-Visa System for Easier Travel: Apply from Anywhere, Anytime!

Edited by: Елена 11

Serbia is streamlining its visa application process with a new fully online electronic visa (e-visa) system. This initiative, announced in March, will eliminate the need for in-person visits to embassies or consulates, making travel to Serbia more convenient for foreign nationals. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Office for Information Technologies and eGovernment are collaborating to develop this efficient and accessible system. Currently, travelers from countries like India, Pakistan, and Nigeria must apply for visas in person. The e-visa system will allow them to complete the entire process online, encouraging more visits for business and tourism. Foreign Minister Marko Đurić highlighted the success of the existing online application system and Foreigners' Portal, which have already benefited thousands. While a specific launch date for the e-visa system is yet to be announced, it is expected to be available soon. Citizens from visa-exempt countries, such as those in the EU, UK, US, Canada, Australia, Japan, and Russia, will continue to enjoy visa-free stays of up to 90 days.
