πŸ• Thousands of dogs took over the streets of Santa Monica. People were only allowed in on a leash! πŸ˜‚-1

On 18 October 2026, in Santa Monica (California, USA) an event took place that dogs had dreamed of for millennia: an entire city street was closed to cars and given over to the four-legged!

Santa Monica hosted a large-scale festival, Day of the Dog, which brought together thousands of dogs and their owners.

For one day, the usual rules of city life changed. Instead of car horns β€” joyful barking, instead of traffic jams β€” lines of corgis, pugs, Labradors and French bulldogs, and instead of businesslike passersby β€” dogs in the most incredible outfits.

People were allowed to be present too. But exclusively accompanied by dogs and preferably on a leash. So they wouldn't run off, get lost or pester other people's pets! πŸ˜‚

Some four-legged guests showed up in superhero costumes, others preferred elegant outfits, and the most self-confident decided that natural beauty needs no additional adornments.

For the guests, entertainment, play areas, photo zones and the chance to meet hundreds of new friends were organized.

True, an acquaintance sometimes began not quite according to human etiquette. But dogs, as we know, have their own ideas about good manners!

The variety of participants looked especially funny: next to tiny dogs that can be carried in a handbag strolled huge hounds capable, if they wished, of carrying off that handbag together with its owner.

And everyone felt like the rightful masters of the street!

For the first time in a long while, motorists had to give way to those who usually just chase after cars!

And the best part is that at this festival it doesn't matter at all whether you're purebred or a mutt, how old you are and what color your fur is.

What matters is a good character, a cheerful mood and a desire to wag your tail!

At the end of the celebration, the dogs were asked to take their humans home, check that they hadn't forgotten anything, and be sure to walk them before bed.

Otherwise, you know these humans: leave them unsupervised and they immediately get into their phones, eat whatever they find and completely refuse to obey commands! πŸΆπŸ˜‚
