Digital humanities are transforming education by integrating technology with traditional humanities disciplines like literature, history, and linguistics. This interdisciplinary field is gaining traction in Latin American universities, moving beyond simple digitization to reshape how knowledge is produced and communicated. WAX project visualizes Patagonia's territory digitally, incorporating indigenous languages. Universities in Chile, such as UC, U. San Sebastián, U. Adolfo Ibáñez, and U. Diego Portales, have established digital humanities labs. These labs focus on creating digital repositories and using technology to analyze and visualize data in innovative ways. A digital repository of 19th-century Anglo-Chilean newspapers in Valparaíso is being developed. Experts believe digital humanities will expand into undergraduate programs and eventually reach schools, broadening career opportunities. Digital humanists are increasingly sought after by companies to enhance computer and algorithm capabilities with linguistic expertise. This integration of technology and humanities is revitalizing the field and opening new avenues for research and employment.
