Arezzo, October 16, 2024 - With the arrival of autumn, Arezzo Psicosintesi has resumed its calendar of activities, continuing the legacy of Roberto Assagioli, the psychiatrist and founder of psychosynthesis, an approach that integrates psychology, spirituality, and humanism. Assagioli spent the last years of his life at Villa La Nussa in Capolona, hosting students from around the world and notable figures like Carl Jung.
On the evening of October 14, at the Arezzo Community Foundation in Via di Pellicceria, teachers Carla Fani, Marco Montanari, Francesca Barbagli, Andrea Bocconi, Paola Butali, Flavia Contenti, along with president and teacher Gianni Bruschi, presented the event lineup for Arezzo Psicosintesi. This year, the association offers a rich program of events, courses, and meetings dedicated to personal growth through psychosynthesis, many of which are free to attend.
The traditional series of conferences will feature seven monthly meetings from November to May, addressing profound themes such as the unconscious, hope, and the power of myths and symbols in relation to psychosynthesis. Notable speakers include Carla Fani (“I Chose You, the Unconscious as a Friend,” November 15), Marco Montanari (“Pandora's Last Gift: Hope, Trap or Cure?” December 13), Francesca Barbagli (“The Power of Myths and Symbols in Personal Development,” January 16), Andrea Bocconi (“Traveling Inside, Traveling Outside,” February 21), Paola Butali (“Crossing the Infinite: Fontana's Cuts and Psychosynthesis,” March 28), Claudio Luminati (“Never Without Mind, Never Without Heart?” April 24), and Piero Ferrucci (“Toxic Relationships, Beneficial Relationships,” May 16). These conferences are open to all and will be held online at 9 PM.
Starting in October, every Wednesday at 7:30 PM, a Psychosynthesis Workshop will be available at the Arezzo Community Foundation, providing a space to explore themes of inner life, led by Gianni Bruschi and other instructors from Arezzo Psicosintesi. The meetings are free with an associative membership.
For those seeking deeper training, the association offers the annual training course “Learning to Know Oneself” with 12 online meetings designed for those wishing to explore their inner potential. This course is guided by Carla Fani, Francesca Barbagli, Marco Montanari, and Gianni Bruschi. Additionally, the same instructors propose another course titled “The Ideal Model,” an introspective journey through inadequate life models, scheduled every Monday at 9 PM online for 9 sessions. For registration for both courses, contact the Arezzo Psicosintesi secretariat.
Free online introductory meetings to psychosynthesis, titled “Know, Own, Transform,” are also scheduled for December 10 and January 14 at 9 PM, led by Marco Montanari.
The association also offers a series of thematic courses, including workshops on topics such as working with dreams, love and disobedience, body and vocal expression, autobiographical writing, and discovering feminine archetypes, with sessions available both online and in-person. Specifically: Working with Our Dreams, Part II (with Carla Fani), A Path of Love and Disobedience (with Marco Montanari), Expressing One's Star (with Gianni Bruschi and Flavia Contenti), Myths and Archetypes of the Feminine (with Carla Fani and Francesca Barbagli), The Art of Caring for Oneself (with Claudio Luminati). Andrea Bocconi is also conducting the second year of the Autobiographical Writing course at the Arezzo prison with some inmates, following the social nature and vocation of Arezzo Psicosintesi.
Arezzo Psicosintesi is a non-profit association promoting psychosynthesis as a method for personal growth through self-knowledge and exploration of personal potential. Based on the teachings of Roberto Assagioli, psychosynthesis helps develop greater awareness and transform the inner world, addressing daily challenges with practical tools such as meditation, visualization, and creative writing. With a humanistic and existential vision, it embraces a holistic view of the human being, including a transpersonal or spiritual dimension, without excluding each person's personal beliefs. It is an accessible method for everyone, useful for improving emotional and mental health, just as physical exercise benefits the body.
“This year we have prioritized online meetings,” says Gianni Bruschi, president of the association since 2023, “as we have had audiences following us from other cities, from northern Italy even to France and Sicily. However, there will also be in-person meetings, as group interaction and direct sharing with others undoubtedly facilitate and accelerate processes of personal transformation and change. I want to highlight the open meetings for the community at the Arezzo Community Foundation in Via Pellicceria.”
