AI Innovations in Healthcare: Global Startups Collaborate at Oracle CloudWorld 2024

Las Vegas, October 1, 2024 - Three startups from Israel, Brazil, and Denmark are leveraging generative AI technologies to enhance healthcare applications, showcased at the Oracle CloudWorld 2024 event. This collaboration aims to improve cancer diagnoses and treatment predictions through advanced AI models.

Dean Bitan, co-founder of the Israeli startup Imagene, emphasized the importance of utilizing AI to analyze complex patterns in biopsy images, particularly for rare cancer forms. Their AI model, CanvOI, is designed to predict treatment responses, discover biomarkers, and evaluate disease prognosis.

Imagene's innovative approach involves modifying input image characteristics to optimize computational resources, achieving a 1.5-7.4% improvement in predictive accuracy over traditional digital pathology models. The startup is currently conducting trials in Israel and North and South America, with plans to expand into Europe, facing challenges due to privacy regulations.

In Brazil, Oracle has partnered with WideLabs to develop AmazonAI, one of the country's largest AI models, while ensuring sensitive data remains within Brazilian borders. Their initial application, bAIgrapher, aims to generate biographical content for Alzheimer's patients, showcasing the potential of AI in enhancing patient care.
