Russian Forces Launch Overnight Drone and Missile Attacks Across Ukraine, Injuring Civilians and Damaging Infrastructure

On February 19, Russian forces launched drone attacks on Odesa, according to Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration. The attacks resulted in injuries to four individuals, including one child. Civilian infrastructure was damaged, including a children's clinic, a kindergarten, and residential buildings. Local emergency power outages were implemented in the Odesa region following the attack. Heating was cut off for some consumers in the Kyiv region.

Kharkiv also sustained damage to a civilian industrial facility due to drone strikes. According to Mayor Ihor Terekhov, approximately three strikes hit the Slobidskyi district of the city. While no injuries were reported, the facility's equipment and other property were damaged.

According to the Air Force Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Russian forces launched 167 strike drones and two Iskander-M ballistic missiles overnight. The attacks originated from the regions of Orla, Bryansk, Kursk, Shatalovo, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and Voronezh. Ukrainian air defense systems reportedly intercepted 106 drones across 14 regions of Ukraine. An additional 56 drones were reported as "locally lost." Odesa, Kyiv, Sumy, Cherkasy, and Zaporizhzhia regions were affected by the attacks.

Russian aerial attacks on Ukrainian cities and their suburbs occur almost daily since the start of Russia's aggressive war against Ukraine. Russian officials continue to maintain that the Russian army strikes exclusively at military targets in Ukraine, but these claims have been repeatedly disproven by independent sources, including journalists.
