Jakson Green and Blueleaf Launch 1 GW Solar Project in Rajasthan

New Delhi, January 30, 2025 - Jakson Green, an Indian energy transition platform, and Singapore-based Blueleaf Energy have announced a partnership to develop a 1 gigawatt (GW) solar portfolio in Rajasthan, with an investment of $400 million.

The project comprises three solar initiatives funded through a combination of debt and equity, featuring both Intra State Transmission System (InSTS) and Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) components. Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) for 25 years have been secured with Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (RUVNL), Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), and National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC).

Commissioning is expected between 2025 and 2026, with the portfolio projected to generate over 1,800 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of green energy annually, sufficient to power more than 1.5 million households. The projects are estimated to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by over 22 million tons over 25 years, equivalent to removing five million cars from the road.

Bikesh Ogra, MD and CEO of Jakson Green, emphasized the project’s significance in reinforcing their commitment to delivering world-class renewable energy solutions. Raghuram Natarajan, CEO of Blueleaf Energy, highlighted the collaboration's potential to add over 5 GW of renewable capacity to the Indian grid by 2030, supporting net-zero goals.

This initiative follows Blueleaf's recent 200 MW Pachora Hybrid Power Project, showcasing a rapid expansion in India's renewable energy sector.
