Indonesia has taken a major step forward by adopting Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 in the 6 GHz frequency band, significantly boosting internet speed and reliability. These technologies offer speeds of up to 46 Gbps and lower latency, making them essential for cloud services, virtual reality, and AI-driven automation.

Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid emphasized that this move strengthens Indonesia’s position in the global digital landscape. The adoption of these standards will support the growth of tech startups and businesses.

With Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7, Indonesia becomes a leader in the Asia-Pacific region. To ensure seamless operation of 6 GHz devices, the government has established strict testing standards, with devices being certified at Indonesia Digital Test House (IDTH).

Authorities have invited government agencies, businesses, and academic institutions to collaborate in building a competitive digital ecosystem. These advancements will play a key role in driving Indonesia’s digital economy forward.
