The India Internet Governance Forum (IIGF) 2024 is set to take place on December 9-10 at the Bharat Mandapam Convention Center in New Delhi. Supported by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and the National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI), this event aims to explore vital aspects of Internet governance and underline India's emerging role in the global digital landscape.

Union Minister of State for Electronics & IT and Commerce and Industry, Jitin Prasada, will inaugurate the forum, which follows successful hybrid editions in 2021, 2022, and 2023. The theme for this year is 'Innovating Internet Governance for India.'

The forum will focus on key issues such as bridging the digital divide, enhancing online trust and safety, and leveraging advanced technologies for nation-building. Significant discussion topics will include Empowering Connections, Legal Frameworks for Internet governance, Responsible AI, a Sustainable Internet, and enhanced cybersecurity measures.

IIGF serves as the Indian chapter of the United Nations Internet Governance Forum (UN IGF), promoting collaborative discussions among diverse stakeholders, including government, civil society, industries, and technical communities. Established in 2021, it aims to maximize the Internet's opportunities while addressing associated challenges.
