Saudi Arabia's LEAP 2025 Sees Record $14.9 Billion in AI Investments

RIYADH, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Feb. 10, 2025 – LEAP 2025, Saudi Arabia's global tech event, announced a record-breaking US$14.9 billion in new Artificial Intelligence (AI) investments, solidifying the Kingdom's position as a leading AI hub.

The new investments, revealed on the opening day of the four-day event, bring the total amount of technology-related infrastructure investments in Saudi Arabia to over US$42.4 billion since LEAP's debut in 2022.

Notable investments include a US$1.5 billion partnership between Groq and Aramco Digital to expand AI-powered inference infrastructure and cloud computing, and a US$2 billion commitment from ALAT and Lenovo to establish an advanced manufacturing and technology center integrating AI and robotics.

Google announced new AI-driven digital infrastructure and a powerful computing cluster, Qualcomm confirmed the availability of its ALLAM language model on Qualcomm AI Cloud, and Alibaba Cloud launched the AI Enablement Programme to train national talent.

Saudi Minister of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) Eng Abdullah Alswaha emphasized the significance of these investments in achieving the Kingdom's vision of becoming a global tech innovation leader.

"LEAP 2025 is a defining moment because when the Kingdom works, the region works, and the whole world works," said Alswaha. "Technology has catalysed Saudi Arabia as the biggest success story in youth and female empowerment in the 21st Century, and we are laser-focused on continuing that success story. The intelligence age is here and, in partnership with you, we are going to take that leap together."
