ISACA, a global association focused on digital trust, has announced its involvement in the LEAD-PRO project, an initiative under the Horizon Innovation Action aimed at improving disaster management capabilities through advanced AI technology.

This collaboration aligns with the European Commission's strategy to leverage cutting-edge technology for enhancing disaster prevention and response across Europe. As part of the EU Skills Pact, ISACA aims to bridge the skills gap in IT and cybersecurity by providing training opportunities that enhance participants' cybersecurity skills.

The project, led by Albert Algans of NUUK AI, focuses on developing advanced AI tools to improve law enforcement agencies' capabilities in effective disaster management. Chris Dimitriadis, ISACA's Global Strategy Director, emphasized the importance of fostering a culture of innovation and knowledge sharing among European partners to meet the evolving challenges of disaster management.

LEAD-PRO addresses urgent needs highlighted by recent events, including the Valencia flooding disaster. The initiative aims to develop AI solutions for real-time data analysis, enhance training for security forces, and promote collaboration among European law enforcement agencies.

According to Algans, LEAD-PRO pioneers the integration of IoT and AI to transform disaster management. By developing visual technologies and intelligent decision-making systems, law enforcement will gain tools that improve situational awareness and operational efficiency.

LEAD-PRO is a Horizon 2020 project involving a consortium of SMEs from across the EU, including ITERATO and L3CE, and collaborates with police forces in Latvia, Lithuania, Valencia, and Barcelona. The initiative focuses on integrating IoT systems, multimedia streaming, and AI capabilities for enhanced real-time data analysis and decision-making during crises.
