Google's Gemini AI has significantly improved its capabilities, now integrating with Google Maps and allowing users to send WhatsApp messages using only voice commands on Android devices.
This feature, while officially available in English, can also be used in Spanish in Mexico. Gemini's enhancements in Android enable users to manage emails, documents, photos, and even access external services like WhatsApp seamlessly.
According to reports, WhatsApp is the first external platform where Gemini facilitates calls and messaging through natural conversational commands, making interactions feel as intuitive as speaking to another person.
To use this feature, users need to activate the assistant and request to send a message to a specific contact. If Gemini correctly identifies the recipient, it displays their name and the WhatsApp icon for confirmation, allowing users to review and edit the message before sending.
In addition to messaging, Gemini can also make phone calls via the Phone app or WhatsApp, although the latter is currently limited to Mexico through Google Assistant.
One of Gemini's major advantages is its natural language processing, which simplifies communication by removing the need for detailed punctuation and formatting, making voice command interactions increasingly resemble real conversations.
